To achieve the Millennium Development Goal of halving the world’s poverty by 2015, Microcredit Finance has been recognised as one of the effective strategies. Though Microfinance has been present in India in one form or another since the 1970s but now it is widely accepted as an effective poverty alleviation strategy.
