| Abstract: Since the beginning of the HIV epidemic, scores of people have been directly and indirectly affected by HIV. Women are increasingly becoming infected with HIV. Women become infected more easily than men. Most new infections of HIV occur in young women between the ages of 15-24. All Young women living with HIV should have access to their sexual and reproductive rights, and should be supported in exercising these rights. There are six fundamental sexual and reproductive health rights prioritized for young HIV positive women. In India young women have no access to information. The importance of ‘Innocence’ prevents young women, including HIV positive young women, from seeking information about sex or services relating to their sexual and reproductive health or rights. In many parts of the world, young women are not allowed to voice their opinions. HIV positive young women’s voices must be heard. There is a need to intervene in various areas to give voice to the needs of HIV positive young women. The silence surrounding the infection of young women must be broken. Girls and young women must be able to speak out, to cease to feel silenced or powerless to change what happens to them. The present paper attempts to reflect upon the rights, voices and the choice of the HIV positive young women. | |
