Abstract: :: In a country like India, where 34.8 percent population belong to 15-35 years age group, it is the quality of young people that will decide the level of development in next few decades. For that reason it is vital to adopt an inclusive approach in mapping information about youth, and therefore, deem rural, tribal and other marginalized youth equally important. With this background, the present work makes a modest attempt in, gaining sociological information about tribal youth in Ladakh. Based on the findings of a sample of 150 youth drawn from the Leh in Ladakh, this article underlines youths perception on education, work-related ambitions, spatial mobility, dress pattern, food habits and inter- generational conflict.
