| Abstract: :: The concept of Youth resource center and its relevance for over all growth and development of youth cannot be over emphasised. Many non- governmental organisations and some government programmess have tried to translate the concept into reality by integrating Youth Resource Centres into their existing programmes. There is no denying that this experimentation has brought forth some innovative ways of addressing the needs of youth today. However, much more needs to be accomplished. Youth resource center programmes, as they are being recognised, are often devoid of holistic approach and at the same time, are intermittent and sporadic, thereby addressing only few component of youth development. Experiences have shown that even though college provides a ready setting for integrating youth resource programmes, that have not gained much momentum in terms of implementation. | |
