| Abstract: :: It is shameful and tragic to note that even in the 21st century, child labour is prevalent in may parts of the world. Unfortunately South Asia has the largest child labour force. Children are slogging on shop floors, fields, mines, factories and homes in exploitative conditions. No society can continue to build its economies on the strength of child workers. Some 120 million children work full time globally, every day, all the year round. As many as 70 percent toil in dangerous environments, exposed every day to hazardous materials and circumstances. Individual children pay the price but the countries suffer too. | |
