The aim of this study was to investigate the causes and consequences of youth unrest in Kashmir. Youth face many resistances, which at times creates such situations for them that they are compelled to deviate from social norms. It could be said that youth unrest is a product of social structure and social institutions. This paper highlights the problem faced by the young and the restless. Today one has to often wait for years to see a genuine talent and to achieve measurable success, which results in increasing levels of frustration and saturation among youth. An analysis of the collected date shows that the government, educational system, unemployment, absence of privatization and violation of human rights are significant factors creating unrest among youth. As the society advances, patterns of production, education, as well as other elements of the society will change, and will need revaluation. The present study analyses how youth can be an important element in this revaluation.
