| Abstract: : : Co-curricular programmes in college milieu infuse motivation at individual level and morale at institutional level. Such programmes contribute for the emotional, social, political and academic development of the students. The programmes, critically speaking, are not merely procedural to conduct NSS and NCC camps n colleges and universities. Lack of best practices in co-curricular programmes on a large scale is a matter of grave concern. There is an earnest need for innovation in empowering the programmes along with the curricular programmes. The real meaning of the curricular programmes could be enhanced through empowering the co-curricular programs for student development. A large student force of our country, which is underutilized for constructivism, is craving for mainstreaming their energy, resource and competence in the service of the nation. Environmental challenges, disasters and social development areas need multi-disciplinary interventions. These are the thrust areas for linking the co-curricular programmes which would enable multi-disciplinary student force to gain integrated and sustainable development outlook for a vibrant civil society. | |
