Vishwa Yuvak Kendra continues its endeavour to bring change in the field of agricultural development through its Agro–based Entrepreneurship Development Programme. During this quarter, these were conducted in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Orissa.

Chhattisgarh

Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, in collaboration with Rachana Chakra Janhit Sansthan, organised an Agro–based Entrepreneurship
Development Programme at Raipur, Chhattisgarh, from 6–10 November 2009. It was organised for the backward areas of the plains of Chhattisgarh that included the backward blocks of Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Korba and Durg where the farmers were not aware of the latest methods and techniques of agriculture. |

In Orissa, the Vishwa Yuvak Kendra organised an Agro–based Entrepreneurship Development Programme in collaboration with SOPUTRA at Niali Block, District Cuttak, from 22–26 December 2009, which was attended by 48 farmers. |

Entrepreneurship Development and Awareness Programme

Entrepreneurship is a purposeful activity indulged in initiating, promoting and maintaining economic activities for
the production and distribution of wealth. Entrepreneurship has been recognised as an essential ingredient of economic development and an integral part of socio-economic transformation. To create awareness, sensitise
and motivate unemployed/underemployed youth to take up entrepreneurship as self-reliant ventures, Vishwa Yuvak Kendra conducted Entrepreneurship Development and Awareness Programmes (EDAP) in Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand.
